What has E.P.A.C. been doing to raise money to buy the park land?
E.P.A.C. is working with Alamedas Recreation and Park department to make grant applications. Agencies which will disperse and administrate grant funds from Proposition 40 have not yet been formed, but E.P.A.C. members are asking agencies that distributed Proposition 12 funds to the City for other parks if they know who will handle Prop 40 money.
E.P.A.C. is applying for Bay Conservancy funding, following the Citys suggestion for pursuing grant money in Section 2.6.j of the 1991 Master Plan.
The Recreation and Park Department has supplied E.P.A.C. with a list of additional possible funders.
E.P.A.C. members will form a non-profit corporation that can accountably raise funding for the park. E.P.A.C. is working with Alamedas Recreation and Park department to make grant applications.
