Books Not Bombs rally and march in
Livermore Sunday, August 8, 2004 on the 59th anniversay of the U.S. atomic bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the international emergency program to end nuclear weapons proliferation began. The campaign's named Abolition 2000. In the East Bay, Tri-Valley CAREs organized a march and protest at the Livermore Lab. Several hundred people turned out in burning sun driving afternoon temperatures to 100 degrees. They demanded Books Not Bombs.
