Susan has traveled to Iraq to record the mothers who have lost family members in war. She invited mothers of U.S. service personnel who were injured and killed in the war to speak at the UN Plaza in San Francisco on 9/11 so that others can understand how it feels to be struck by war. This is an effort to remind people that the war is not just a tallysheet on a newspaper page, but a terrible, personal force
