911 Speakout About the War on Terror
On the third anniversary of the attack on New York, while many remembered those killed in the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, a rally in United Nations Plaza in San Francisco spoke about our soldiers and the many Iraqi civilians killed by a terrifying war. MotherSpeak.org, a website authored by Alameda writer Susan Galleymore, organized the rally. Susan invited mothers of U.S. soldiers injured and killed in the war. She also invited others to talk about the effect of war on American muslims, and about how budget cutbacks caused by the draining effect of the war's expense are shrinking community services, especially for veterans. A San Francisco labor leader talked about Proposition 'N' calling for the widthdawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. Click here to read about the rally and hear songs and speeches. |
